What AutoStare does

When you read notes on camera, your eyes drop below the lens, and the person watching sees you looking away. AutoStare corrects that in real time: it gently turns your eyes back toward the camera while you keep reading.

It moves your real eyes, including lids and lashes, using a trained eye-redirection model. Nothing is pasted on. Blinks stay natural, and so do real glances away.

More and more companies screen candidates with one-way video interviews, often with AI: no person on the other side, just a camera and a timer. We think people deserve to come across as themselves, whatever their budget.

  • Private. Your video is processed on your own computer. It is never uploaded, stored or sent anywhere by AutoStare.
  • Here for job seekers. If you're looking for work and genuinely can't afford AutoStare, email us and we'll arrange access for you. We built this to help people come across as themselves, and that matters more to us than the price.
  • Real time. Corrects live video at full frame rate, so it works in live calls and recorded answers alike.
  • Quick to set up. Ten seconds: look at your camera, then at your notes. The steps are shown next to your camera and read aloud.

How it works

Set it up once

Look into your camera for two seconds, then at your notes. AutoStare learns where your camera is and where you read. A guide sits right under your camera and talks you through it.

Read naturally

While you read, AutoStare keeps your gaze on the lens. Small, slow movements stay steady on the camera, and bigger glances stay natural, so you never look frozen.

Use it anywhere

It works in the browser for one-way interview sites and video calls, and as a desktop app that shows up as a camera in any meeting or recording app.

Made for the moments you need notes

One-way video interviews

Recorded answers, a timer, no interviewer

A question appears, you get a few seconds to think, and the recording starts. Most people keep their key stories and numbers written down, but every glance at them shows up in the recording, often reviewed by AI or skimmed quickly by a recruiter.

With AutoStare, your notes can sit under your camera and your eyes stay on the lens, so your answer comes across as confident and direct.

Live video interviews

Panels, screening calls, final rounds

You want your achievements, a few numbers and your questions for them within reach, without looking like you're reading a script.

AutoStare keeps your eyes on the interviewer's side of the screen while you check your notes, so the conversation feels personal.

Presentations on video calls

Updates, pitches, demos, lectures

Speaker notes help you stay on track, but reading them makes you look away from everyone you're presenting to.

Keep your notes open and still present to the room: your eyes stay on the camera while you follow your points.

Recording videos from a script

Course lessons, product walkthroughs, video updates

Reading a script to camera usually means a teleprompter rig or many retakes.

AutoStare turns your screen into a simple teleprompter: read your script and it looks like you're speaking straight to the viewer.

Speaking in a second language

Interviews and meetings outside your first language

Having key phrases and vocabulary written down is a big confidence boost, but it can make you look distracted.

AutoStare lets you lean on your notes without it showing, so people focus on what you say.

Questions

Is my video uploaded anywhere?

No. AutoStare processes your video on your own computer. It has no servers that receive your video, and it doesn't record anything.

Will it look fake?

It's designed not to. It moves your real eyes rather than pasting new ones on, and blinks and big glances stay natural. It isn't perfect yet: quick flicks while reading along a line can still show a little. Keeping your notes in a narrow column right under your camera makes the biggest difference.

What do I need?

A laptop or desktop computer with a webcam. It works in your web browser for interview sites and video calls, and as a desktop app for other meeting and recording apps.

How much will it cost?

AutoStare will be a paid product; pricing comes at launch. If you're looking for work and genuinely can't afford it, email us at hello@autostare.com and we'll arrange access for you.

Can I use it in any interview?

Please follow each employer's instructions for their interview. AutoStare changes where your eyes point, not what you say.
